Our manufacturing system design is as ingenious as the Z3 battery modules it produces.
When we developed the Eos Znyth™ battery chemistry we were inspired by proven, industrial zinc-plating baths. As our research, development, and engineering teams looked to commercial production, they’ve taken a similar approach, leveraging existing knowledge of high-throughput manufacturing techniques and identifying well-established equipment and automation processes—like injection molding, extrusion, and welding—that can be intelligently adapted to meet our scalability and sustainability goals.
As a result, we’re designing manufacturing systems that will allow us to achieve GWh levels with speed and simplicity, ensuring rapid production to keep up with growing energy storage demand, while at the same time reducing the amount of compromised or scrap material to increase what we reclaim and recycle.
Eos batteries are constructed using abundant and readily available materials that can be sustainably sourced.

The adaptive battery models we’ve developed incorporate greater complexity—like secondary and tertiary coupling effects that theoretical models can’t. They provide us with a level of fidelity that enables us to understand the current state of charge (SoC) of a battery at any given moment.
It’s these kinds of advanced tools that are helping our teams gain deeper insights into the unique characteristics of our Znyth chemistry and leverage them to optimize operation. Once embedded in our Eos Battery Management System software, our customers will have the flexibility to bring these capabilities forward, as appropriate to their specific storage application and goals.

It’s all part of our “less is more” philosophy. Extracting the most energy we can from the existing materials in our battery—like increasing the zinc bromide utilization in our electrolyte to reduce the amount of titanium, felt, and plastic in each module’s construction. Or substituting electrode components with alternative, less costly, but equally effective and available materials. We know exactly where there are opportunities like these to hone the Znyth technology. And our research has already shaped the latest generation of our battery modules, the Eos Z3, proving we can substantially lower cost per kWh with relative ease, while maintaining the same level of performance our customers have come to expect.
